oint of view pornography (POV) is adult entertainment that is filmed as if the watcher had experienced the sex-acts themselves. In POV porn the person receiving sexual gratification holds the camera himself and aims it down at the actress or actor who is pleasuring him. This is in contrast to having a separate camera crew filming the action. The effect is to give the viewer the sense that they are experiencing the sexual acts they are watching, as opposed to simply watching others as a voyeur. Most POV porn is classed as Gonzo pornography. Influenced by 1990's Amateur pornography, in 1997 the east coast based adult video production company B/G/P of Mount Laurel, NJ pioneered the idea of having their male actor performing in a film while operating the camera and also narrating, so that the viewer experiences the film through the eyes of the performer. The first-person perspective was influenced by the 1966 film Blowup.[1] At the time this was in contrast to the majority of porn, which tended not to make viewers aware of the camera.[1] In Japan the genre is known as Hamedori.
